The YouTube generation votes every day on social media, so we encouraged them to do it in real life.
We created a three-part video series to encourage millennials to vote. The first video was a supercut of 211 creators, each sharing a 1:34-minute video (the time it takes to register) on how easy it is to register. On Election Day, a second video used dog doppelgängers to stand in for popular YouTubers as they went to #VoteIRL. Finally, a PSA with Barack Obama urged the YouTube community one last time to get out and vote.
While the outcome of the U.S. election was…surprising, more millennials registered & voted than ever before.
